Mary B. Drake

Mary B. Drake, 89, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia, passed away Monday evening, December 1, 2008 at Heartland of Greenville. She was born in Ansonia, daughter of the late William and Ida (Thomas) Jenkinson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon, Emerson and Bill Jenkinson; two sisters, Ruth Martin, and Doris Brewer; and a son in law Edward Flory. Mary had helped her husband with the family farm as well as working for Master Industries in Ansonia. She was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rossburg Fire Department. Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ernest D. Drake whom she married on March 16, 1940; two daughters, Darlene Flory and Dinah (Jerry) Worley; four grandchildren, Michael (Gwen) Flory, Debbie (Bill) Metzner, Justin (Lesley) Worley and Jason (Jackie Kelly) Worley; two step grandchildren Abbey (Johnny) Sanchez, Carey (John) Travis; four great grandchildren, Amber Metzner, Emma and Sara Flory, Noah Worley; two step great grandchildren Anna Sanchez and Megan Travis. Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. John Monroe, Harvey Kock and Ronnie Drake officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Rossburg United Methodist Church.
