Mary E. (Neal)

Mary E. (Neal) Hiestand, 89, of Greenville and formerly of Rossburg, passed away early Saturday morning, February 28, 2009 at the Alterra Sterling House in Greenville. She was born in Darke County, daughter of the late Elmer and Bessie (Manning) Neal. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hiestand, her son Robert Hiestand, and siblings, Muriel, Carl, Lester and Roscoe Neal. A member of the Ansonia First Church of God, Mary was retired from Corning Glass in Greenville where she had worked over 25 years. She is survived by two grandchildren, Wanda Mollis and Jeffery Hiestand; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Betty) Neal, and a sister, Evelyn (Vernon) Chambers; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hiestand; and a sister-in-law, Audra Neal. Services will be held Thursday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Schrock officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
