Mary "Jane" Longfellow

Mary “Jane” (Byrum) Longfellow, 78, of Greenville, passed away on September 8, 2010 at her residence. Jane was born in Union City, Indiana on September 29, 1931 to the late Ralph and Katherine (Gettinger) Byrum.
Jane worked at her family’s general store in Bartonia. She enjoyed volunteering at many organizations in the community, especially at Wayne Hospital. She loved being around people and going out with the ladies shopping and eating. Jane also enjoyed traveling with her husband.
Jane is survived by her husband, John Longfellow; a son, Todd Longfellow, and wife Cathy of Union City; two grandchildren, Matthew Longfellow, and wife Sarah of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Laura Longfellow, and husband Justin “Jay” Wyman of Summerville, South Carolina; two great grandchildren, Matthew Longfellow Jr. and Lily Longfellow; and a sister, Saundra “Sue” Byrum of Henderson, Nevada.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson with the Rev. Sherrie Drake being asked to officiate.
