Mary L. Esser

Mary L. Esser, 78, formerly of Greenville passed away early Thursday morning, December 13 at the Green Valley Nursing Home in New Albany, IN. She was born in Celina, the daughter of the late Raymond and Norma (Ford) Ritchie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Esser on December 10, 1991 and a brother, Harold Ritchie. Mary was retired from Fram/Allied Signal in Greenville. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville. She is survived by her children; Susan (Ronald) Poling of San Antonio, TX, John M. (Sue) Esser of Greenville, Jerry W. (Renee) of Poquoson, VA, and Karen (Chris) Steele of Greenville, IN; Grandchildren; Michael Poling, Kevin Poling, Brian Esser, Jennifer White, Sabrina Gurganus, Krista Henderson, Andy Esser, Craig and Danielle Steele; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Partin of Van Wert, OH. Services will be held Monday, December 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Fr. John White officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given for breast cancer.
