Maxine E. Ayers, 81, of Greenville, passed away Thursday evening, February 28 at her residence. She was born in Detroit, MI, daughter of the late James and Verla (Riegel) Bell.in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bell. A homemaker, Maxine was a member of the Greenville Grace Brethren Church and was a volunteer for State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard H. Ayers, whom she married July 12, 1947; two daughters, Gayle and husband Harry Kinnison, and Dianna and husband Gailen Wilson all of Greenville; grandchildren, Thomas (Peggy) Lucas, Melinda (David) Crowe, Kyley (Jay) Pearson and Korey Wilson; great grandchildren,Madysen Crowe, Christian Crowe and Austin Crowe; a brother, James R. Bell of Celina; sisters, Betty Gridley of Brookville and Pamela Anderson of Delaware, OH; and a sister-in-law, Jean Bell of Greenville. Services will be held Tuesday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville with the Rev. Danny Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Greenville Grace Brethren Church or State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
