Nevin "Nub" Hiestand

Nevin E. "Nub" Hiestand, 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Rest Haven in Greenville.


He was born on March 15, 1934, in Allen Township, Darke County, Ohio, to the late Charles and Minnie (Gate) Hiestand.


In addition to his parents, Nub was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hiestand, whom he married on February 12, 1953; and his daughter, Karlynn Leeper.


Nub was a salesman by trade, selling Rainbow Cleaners, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.


Nub is survived by his 4 children, Krisann (Ted) Riegel of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Greg (Claudia) Hiestand of Greenville, Brad (Cindy) Hiestand of Rossburg, Ohio, and Karen (Jim) Eilerman of North Star, Ohio;his 15 grandchildren; his 36 great grandchildren; his son-in-law, Dennis Leeper; and his sister Betty Schamback.


A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 28, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 233 W. 3rd Street, Greenville, with Fr. Matt Feist celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Church Cemetery.


Nub's family requests no flowers or gifts be sent, but instead, memorial donations my be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org/donate.
