Patricia Ann Royer

Patricia "Patty" Ann Royer, 91 of New Madison, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Ayden Health Of Greenville.

Patty was born on July 5, 1930, near Palestine, Ohio, the late Orville and Mildred (Wilson) Wilt.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death, in 2016, by her husband, Waldo Royer, whom she married on August 1, 1971; her sister, Zerma Wilt; her brothers, Byron "Bud", Dale, Gene, Richard "Dick" and Robert "Bob" Wilt.

Patty was a premature baby, born at home near Palestine. She has always credited the Darke County Health nurse and women of the Palestine community for helping her survive. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1948. As a young girl, she helped with the family farm and then began working at the grocery in New Madison in August 1959, retiring "for good" in 2002. Patty always enjoyed sewing for her family and made many things for her daughters and grandchildren. There are even things waiting to be worn by her great grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her children, Sharon (Brian) Anderson, of New Madison, Mike Royer of Greenville, Ohio, and Debbie (Jeff) Gutheil of West Carollton, Ohio; her ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Joe Royer officiating. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery.
