Paul D. Knick, 75 of Ansonia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon August 25 at the Kettering Medical Center in Dayton. He was born February 23, 1932 in Darke County son of Velma (Riffell) Knick of Greenville and the late George W. Knick. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary D. (McEldowney) Knick on April 22, 2006. Paul was a veteran of the US Army. He had worked as an industrial engineer for Hobart's in Troy as well as farming most of his life. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by 6 sons, George W. and wife Renee' Knick of Greenville; Gregory L and wife Mary J. Knick of Ansonia; Gary A. and wife Jamie Knick of Bradford; Gordon R. and wife Laura Knick and Glenn P and wife Jill Knick all of Greenville; Garth A. and wife Angie Knick of Ansonia; grandchildren, Randall, Austin, Joshua, Cami, Jennifer, Grant, Lara, Caleb, Wyatt, Cory, Zachary, Kristin, Casey and Kylie; 2 great grandsons, Tyler and Hayden; and a sister, Marlene Baxter of West Manchester. Services will be held Thursday, August 30 at 10 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Ansonia Athletic Boosters.
