Paul N. Kaufman, 97, of Greenville and formerly Troy, passed away early Sunday morning, October 5, 2014, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN.
He was born July 25, 1917, in Springfield, OH, son of the late Pearl and Ola Elsie (Norton) Kaufman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step mother, Louise Kaufman; his first wife, Janet (Westerling) Kaufman; his second wife of over 50 years, Mildred "Midge" (Hagaman) Kaufman; a brother, Ray Kaufman; and sisters, Martha Estey and Ruth May.
Paul was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He had worked most his life for Bridgestone (the former Dayton Tire and Rubber). He was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in Dayton. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by his children, Ann Bailey and Tom Kaufman; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 15 at the Riverside Cemetery Chapel in Troy with Pastor Eric Knight officiating.
There will be no public visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, OH.
