Pauline Long, 93, of Greenville and formerly of Arcanum, went to be with her Lord, Monday evening, June 30, 2014 at the Brethren Retirement Community.
She was born February 6, 1921 in Union City, IN, the daughter of the late William Merle and Sarah Ann (Cox) Lumpkin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul E. Long; a son, Paul Long, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa Reed; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
A homemaker, Pauline had been a member of the former North Star Congregational Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Paulette (David) Hoke of Arcanum and Becky (Joe) Martin of Greenville; 6 grandchildren, Chris Hoke, Deanna Hamilton, Anne Marie Bailey, Sara (Teddy) Horne, Ben Reed and Doug (Beth) Martin; 8 great grandchildren, John and McKenna Bailey, Avery Horne, MacKynzie Reed and Bryson Canan, Derek (Sierra) Martin, Brittany and Tyler Martin; a brother, Harley Lumpkin of Union City, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331
