Pauline Powell, 72, of Greenville and formerly of Union City, passed away Thursday evening, April 4, 2013 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, OH.
She was born April 26, 1940, in Bloomfield Kentucky, the daughter of the late Willie and Arbel (Keeling) Lewis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Powell on May 15, 2010, 1 brother Donnie Lewis, and 1 sister Grace Jewel.
Pauline had retired from Center of Hope in Union City, OH, where she had worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Union City, IN.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Sue (Brown) Powell of Nappanee, IN, Clarke and Lori (Norris) Powell of Portland, IN, Tony and Angie (Jenkins) Powell of Leesburg, IN, and Willie and Tina (Burns) Powell of Versailles, OH;
10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Willie Lewis of Carlisle, OH, W.T. of Union City, OH, Bobbie of Franklin OH, Theo of Middletown OH, Gary of Middletown, OH, Ray of Franklin, OH, and Jessie of Franklin, OH; sisters, Christine Napier of Franklin,OH, Alice Wheeler of Hunter, OH, Effie Henson of Franklin ,OH, and Corfine Price of Middletown, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, OH, with Pastor Sonny Price officiating, Burial will follow in the Snell Cemetery near Union City, OH.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
