Phyllis Irene Summers

Phyllis Irene (Minnich) Summers, 83, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

She was born on June 19, 1939, in Miami County, Ohio, to the late Lewis and Margaret (Teegarden) Minnich.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sisters, Betsy Garner, Lois Aslinger, Martha Vandergriff, Mabel Kiser, and Darlene Minnich; her brothers, Roy Minnich, Jimmy Ray Minnich, Billy Lee Minnich; her step-mother, Betty Minnich; and her step-brother, James Spurlock.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 64 years, Walter Summers, whom she married on March 15, 1958; her children, Pamela Summers (Terry) Marker of Versailles, Ohio, and her son Patrick Summers of Greenville, Ohio; her 8 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Fayetta Lines of Greenville; her step-brother, Lee Roy (Susan) Spurlock of Greenville; and her step-sister, Annetta (Ronald) Clayton, Jr. of Bradford, Ohio.

Phyllis was a member of the Stelvideo Christian Church for many years. She was also a member of the Greenville Loyal Order of Moose 329, and the Greenville Fraternal Order of Eagles #2177. Phyllis enjoyed going camping and playing cards with family and friends; but most importantly, she loved sending out Christmas cards each year.

A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Mr. Charles Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Guests may visit with her family on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the start of the service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
