Ralph E. "Gene"

Ralph E. "Gene" Bixler, 85, of Greenville, passed away late Friday evening March 4, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born October 8, 1925 in Celina, son of the late William and Ida B.(Bachar) Bixler.  Gene had worked at Mengel's in Union City, IN, farmed, was a greeter at Walmart in Winchester, IN and had retired from Wayne Detling Farms. He was a member of the Teegarden Congregational Christian Church near Ansonia. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna (Fellers) Bixler,whom he marrried December 27, 1955; sons, William (Antonia) Bixler of Greenville, Mark A. Bixler of Canton, IL; a daughter, Debbie (Dan) Cox of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Emilie Cox of Bloomington, IN, Cody Bixler of Greenville, Maddie Cox of Naples, FL, Javi Bixler of Greenville, and Gianna Bixler of Greenville. Sevices will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 at Teegarden Congregational Christian Church near Ansonia, with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at the church on Wednesday from  12-2 p.m.  The family request that  memorial contributions be given to the the Teegarden Congregational Church. Arrangements have been entrusted with Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.
