Reda J. (Hoggatt) Nisonger, 79, loving mother, grandmother, and dedicated wife, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 6th 2012 at 12:40 a.m. at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
She was born March 28, 1933 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Martin Steward and Vola Gladys (Judy) Hoggatt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul in April of 2004. Also preceded in
death by brothers, Estel, Julian, and Gene Hoggatt, and sister Elnora (McLear) Young.
Reda was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville. A homemaker, Reda was a 4-H Advisor for numerous years sharing her sewing, quilting, and cooking skills to inspire future generations. Reda displayed her blue ribbon hand made quilts several years at the Great Darke County Fair. All her children and grandchildren enjoy one of her specially hand crafted quilts.
She is survived by eight children and seventeen grandchildren. Daughter, Patty Padula, from Fishers, IN and her children,
Heather, Aaron, and Nicole Nicholson; Son, Ronald Nisonger and significant other Kathy Larsh of Greenville, and his step children, Amy and Michael Gannon and Doug and Kara Myers; Son, Phillip Nisonger and
significant other Ann Palmer of Greenville, with their daughter Kailey and David Guillozet; Son, Michael and Betsy Nisonger of Versailles with sons,
Seth and Friend Elizabeth Watkins, Ryan and Erin, Kyle and Alison, and Ian Nisonger; Daughter, Sharon and Kevin John of Nashport, OH with children,
Adrianne, Devin, and Paige John; Daughter Jane and Brian Jones of
Greenville with daughter Mandy Jones; Son, Thomas Nisonger and significant other Vickie Brinley of Greenville with his children Amy Nisonger and Jeff and Stacey Nisonger; Daughter, Lisa and Rick Stover of Huntsville, OH with her children Sadie, Mikaela, and Max Oyer. Reda was also blessed with seven great grandchildren. She is survived by brothers, Henry of Michigan, Charles of Columbus, OH, and Gary Hoggatt of Rossburg; sisters, Henrietta Ellison of Columbus, OH and Carolyn Breckenridge of Florida; and sister in law Anita
Hammaker, of North Star.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 11, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with Fr. John White celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville Friday from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service being offered at 5:45 p.m. In the lieu of flowers family request memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association.
