Reta C. Whalen

Reta C. Whalen, 56, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 27, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Whitehall, NY, daughter of the late Doran L. and Margaret E. “Peg” (Black) Arnett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jazen Leon Whalen. A 1971 graduate of Greenville High School, Reta had worked as a nurse’s aid at several area healthcare facilities. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Women of the Moose both of Greenville. She is survived by her children, Richard “Richie” Whalen of Greenville and Retina Whalen of Dayton; grandchildren, Kyeran Meade and Skyller Masingill; and a brother, Steve Arnett of Greenville. Services will be held Saturday, August 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Arnold Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m.
