Richard E. "Dick"

Richard E."Dick" Baker, 87, of Rossburg passed away Monday evening September 24 at the Dayton Heart Hospital. He was born May 30, 1920 in Union City, IN son of the late Virgil and Opal (Price) Baker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine R. Baker on December 11, 1990, and 2 brothers Raymond and Eugene Baker. Dick was retired from Elmer Riegle farms where he had worked for 26 years. He was a 50 year member of the Ansonia Grange. He is survived by his children, John and wife Angela Baker of Richmond, IN; and Katie and husband Gary Cothran of Ansonia; grandchildren, Doug and wife Carla Cothran of Rossburg, Dennis and wife Tammy Cothran of Florida, Deidre and husband Jay Stammen of New Weston, Brad and wife Lynne Baker of Minster, Jessica and husband Jake Bornhorst of Anderson, IN and Nicole Baker of Minster; 10 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Grace Barga. Services will be held Friday, September 28, at 10 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Joe Royer officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Rossburg Fire Department.
