Richard L. "Dick" Shiverdecker, 76, of Greenville and formerly of Rossburg, passed away early Monday morning, April 21, 2008 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. He was born near Ansonia, son of the late Leroy and Celia C. (Armstrong) Shiverdecker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Routson. Dick was retired from Emerson Electric in Sidney and also from farming. He was a member of the Ansonia United Methodist Church, the Elk's Lodge and Eagles both in Greenville. He was a veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret P. (Rowe) Shiverdecker whom he married December 27, 1951; a daughter, Diana (James) Zumbrink of Rossburg; a son, Dennis (Elizabeth) Shiverdecker of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, Scott (Kitty) Zumbrink, Dawn (Bryan) Muhlenkamp, Merridy (Jason) Toepfer and Lee Shiverdecker; great grandchildren, Kennedy Zumbrink, Brooke and Kelsey Muhlenkamp, and Carson and Reilly Toepfer; a brother, Kenneth (Janet) Shiverdecker of Greenville; a sister, Evelyn (Harold) Stuck of Versailles; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ansonia United Methodist Church, Ansonia, OH with the Rev. Joe Royer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Brock Cemetery. Friends may call at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Wednesday April 23 from 4-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
