Richard W. Shepherd

Richard W. Shepherd, 89, of Union City, Ohio, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 7, 2011, at the Union City Care Center. He was born May 10, 1922 in Darke County, son of the late, Grover and Flo (Lundry) Shepherd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Delma M. (Rodeheffer) Shepherd on February 9, 2005; brothers, Ralph and Lowell Shepherd; and a sister Dorothy Riegle-Wade. Richard was retired from Union City Mold. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He is survived by a brother, Thomas (Saundra) Shepherd of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 10 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Ansonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
