Robert "Bob" Hager, age 73, of New Paris, Ohio, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Butler Warren County Hospice House in Middletown, Ohio.
He was born on September 23, 1948, in Corbin, Kentucky, to the late Earl and Georgia (Garner) Evans.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Karen (Wissler) Hager; his son Danny Hager and his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Mary Wissler.
Bob was a member of the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren. He served his country faithfully as a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 106 and American Legion Post 360 in New Paris. In the past, Bob served on the New Paris Volunteer Fire Department and was "the best" umpire in Wayne and Preble Counties. He loved the Buckeyes, especially Ohio State Football. Bob enjoyed watching any sport that his children and grandchildren were involved in. He and Karen loved and supported their family in all of their activities.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Mandy (Kenny) Mann of Eaton, Ohio, and his son, Robbie (Christy) Hager of New Madison; his grandchildren, Brent Hager, Dylan Hager, Trey (Rachel) Mann, Danika (Dylan) Embree, Payton Mann, Kynnedi Hager, Madisyn Mann, Dessa Hager and Reagyn Hager; his sisters-in-law, Ann Toney, Linda (Tom) Sheard, Roberta (Mark) Porter and Vicky Phelps; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends Bob and Sue Hinshaw.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren, 373 Love Road, New Paris, Ohio, 45347.
Bob's family will be receiving guests on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be given in Bob's memory to Ohio's Hospice, 5940 Long Meadow Drive, Franklin, Ohio 45005
