Roseleen Ruby Detling, age 84 of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born on April 21, 1940 in West Virginia to the late Homer and Lena (Wilt) Shaffer.
In addition to her parents, Roseleen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rollie; brother, Vinton Shaffer; sisters, Alta Sowry and Lena Shaffer.
Those left to cherish Roseleen's memory include her children, Todd and Carol Detling of Greenville, Carla Detling of Arcanum, Carmen Matchett of Greenville, and Kirk and Janie Detling of Pitsburg, Ohio; sister, Brenda DeFord of California; grandchildren, Casey and Heath Kaufman of South Carolina, Kyle Detling of Greenville, Cody Matchett of Greenville, Alexis Matchett of Brookville, Ohio, Caitlyn and Larry Blowers of Greenville, Taylor and Charles Gilliam of West Milton, Ohio, Matthew Detling of Pitsburg, Ohio; and one great grandchild, Cole Kaufman.
Roseleen took pride and joy in her garden at her house. She was a sports fanatic, she loved to watch The Ohio State Buckeyes and the UD Flyers. You would see her at all her kids’ and grandkids' sporting events cheering them on or find her watching sports on TV. She took great interest and dedication in attending her grandkids’ activities. Her family meant the world to her. Roseleen also belonged to Gordon United Methodist Church for many years, as well as Sonrise Church Ithaca. She was famous for her homemade pies at the church ice cream socials.
Throughout her life, Roseleen found joy in the simple pleasures, cherishing the time spent with her family. Her gentle presence and unwavering patience left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Roseleen's legacy will be remembered for her selfless nature and the love she shared with those around her.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville with Pastor Maggie Sykes officiating. A visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00- 11:00 AM on Thursday.
