Ruth E. Hiestand

Ruth E. Hiestand, 82, of New Weston, passed away Sunday morning, July 13, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Russia, OH the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Couchot) Liette. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Helen Stout, Susie Gilliland and Dolores Byrd. A homemaker, Ruth was retired from Fram/Allied Signal in Greenville where she had worked for over 23 years. She was a member of the Fram Retirees. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Hiestand, whom she married February 16, 1946; sons, Phillip (Sandy) Hiestand of New Weston, Cyril (Deb) Hiestand of Union City, OH and Timothy Hiestand of Ansonia; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Norma (Art) Rammel of Coldwater, Lowell (Madonna) Liette of North Star, Ralph (Ella Mae) Liette of Chickasaw, Connie (Urban) Winner of Osgood and Judy (John) Knight of Springfield, VA; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Stout and Charles Gilliland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Thursday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. Edgar Schambach and Thomas Dorn co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 16 from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Cancer Association of Darke County or State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
