Ruth Evelyn Strait

Ruth E. Strait, 86, of Greenville, passed away, Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 26, 1931 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Marion and Blanche (Hart) Bateman.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Strait, and her son, Keith Strait.

Ruth was a member of Community United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering at Community Help Center in Union City and with Bingo at Heartland of Greenville. Ruth was an avid reader and a lover of cats. She loved cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her daughters and son in law, Sharon Strait and Karen (Curtis) Davis all of Greenville; her grandchildren; Damon LeGrand of Greenville, Evelyn Lester of Dayton, and Curtis Davis III of Dayton; 9 great grandchildren; her brother and sister in law, Francis (Florence) Bateman,Jr. of New Weston; her sister and brother in law; Carol (Jim) Walls of Ansonia; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Mitch Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery.

Family and Friends may visit on Friday, August 18,2017 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
