Sharon Prosyk

Sharon K. Prosyk, Age 78, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born on June 28, 1944, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Benjamin "BF" and Phyllis (Oswalt) Monroe.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Steven Ray Higgins; and her brother Vernon Woodyard.

Sharon was a registered nurse, achieving her Bachelor of Nursing while working full time and caring for her family. She was known to have had multiple jobs, making sure to provide for her family. Her backyard was her "sanctuary" full of beautiful flowers. She loved nothing more than for her grandchildren and friends to come and be at her pool. She will be remembered for her "open door" policy. You were always made to feel welcome. She enjoyed her Corvette and was known to push the accelerator a time to two. Sharon was an avid reader.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Gary Higgins of Greenville, Ohio, and Frank Higgins of Brookshire, Texas; her daughter, Toma (Mark) Johnson of Carlisle, Ohio; her grandchildren, Erica (Steve) Greer, Vince (Ashley) Higgins, Daylon (Jessica) Poston, Danelle Poston, Ian Higgins, Lacey (David) Mullins, Maleah Johnson; numerous great grandchildren; her brothers, Kenneth Monroe and Larry (Shirley) Monroe; her sister, Toni Woodyard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Sam Shilot officiating. A private burial will take place in Lisbon Cemetery at the convenience of Sharon's family.

Sharon's family will receive guests on Sunday from 6:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home in Greenville.
