Sheila Ann Collins

Sheila (Hatfield) Collins, 80, of Sarasota, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 after a short illness.
Born August 21, 1935 in Barboursville, West Virginia, Sheila attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida but returned to West Virginia as an illustrator for the Huntington Herald Dispatch where she met her husband Norman. After his death, Sheila managed their apartment complex in Huntington for several years. She still let her creative light shine by painting elaborate and colorful maritime scenes on the bottom of the complex pool each summer.
After retirement, Sheila moved back to where she was the happiest- Sarasota. She enjoyed many years pursuing her hobbies of reading and cooking, but most of all, spending time with friends.
Sheila is preceded in death by her husband, Norman, parents Cecil and Ann Hatfield of Barboursville, and sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Joseph Kauflin of Vandalia, Ohio.
She is survived by her niece Jennifer (Alan) Limke, nephew Matt (Dianne) Kauflin, great-nephew Cameron Kauflin, great-nieces Eva Stebel, Emily Kauflin, Cecelia Stebel, Kelly Kauflin and Katie Kauflin, extended family and special friend, Sue Nave.
A private graveside revive will be held at Ridgelawn Memorial Cemetery Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
