Stephen L. Mcmaken

Stephen L. McMaken, 63, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, April 8, 2010, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was born in Piqua, son of Wilbur L. McMaken of Greenville and the late Betty J. (Byers) McMaken. Steve was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the VFW in Greenville. Steve loved all things sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Crawford) McMaken; children, Troy McMaken and Tara Timmons both of Nashville, TN; step-children, Jennifer Strong of Cleveland and Jessie Strong of Greenville; grandchildren, Lauren McMaken and Mary Timmons both of Nashville, TN; a brother, Fred (Pat) McMaken of Greenville; and a sister, Charlene (fiance Tom Bowman) Pickerill of Centerburg, OH; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held Saturday, April 17, at 10:00am, at the Greenville VFW Hall, 219 N. Ohio Street, Greenville. The family will receive friends at the VFW Hall Saturday 1 hour prior to services.
