Teresa Geraldine Van Dine

Teresa Geraldine "Gerry" Van Dine, 94, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

She was born on April 6, 1927, in Greenville to the late Robert and Alice Opal (Pretzman) Skidmore.

In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Russ W. Van Dine, whom she married on January 7, 1945; her daughter, Carolyn Van Dine; her son-in-law, Colyer Daughtry; and her siblings, William Skidmore and Arlene Runner.

Gerry was a 1945 graduate of Greenville High School. After school she began her career working for several different companies, including the Treaty Company, Gershuh's Restaurant, Neff Lettering, and provided home healthcare and babysitting for several local families. Gerry had two loves, following Jesus and her family. She was an active member of the CMA Church in Greenville for many years. Gerry loved listening to classical music and church hymns. When she was at home, Gerry enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Gerry is survived by her children, Phyllis (Robert) Prewitt of Ripon, California, Steve (Ellen Schneider) Van Dine of Columbus, James (Peggy) Van Dine of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Kathy Daughtry of Greenville; her 12 grandchildren; and her many great and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the CMA Church, 306 Devor Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.

A private burial will take place at Greenville Township Memorial Garden at the convenience of the family.

Tribute Funeral Homes will be serving Gerry's family.
