Thelma, "Lucille" Fourman, 91, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2014, in Sedona Arizona. Lucille was born in Fletcher, Ohio and spent 85 years of her life in her beloved New Madison. She moved to Sedona, Arizona 5 years ago to be closer to her family. Lucille, was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; parents, Claude and Tress Crickmore; sister, Pearl Eley; and brothers, Clarence and Clyde Crickmore. She is survived by her daughter, Denise, son-in-law, Patrick; granddaughter, Meagan and her husband , Rob; and 2 granddaughters, Kalyn and Danica. She also left behind nieces: Janice Riegle, Phyllis Eley, Diana Sanderson, Barbara Watson, Claudia Crickmore and a nephew, Gary Crickmore; and many grand- and great grand-nieces and nephews.
Lucille was truly a "figure" in New Madison. She was active in the community, a 50 year member of the Eta Pi Kappa Sorority, and working on the school calendar for many years. She loved and participated in the School and Darke County fairs. She drove the school bus for 17 years, and worked on the election board for 40 plus years. Lucille was also a member of the Eagles where she loved to go and dance, and play her beloved card game Euchre. Lucille absolutely loved music which continued to the end of her life. Many may have known she played the piano, but may not have known she played the violin as well.
Lucille really enjoyed traveling. She traveled to California twice a year for over 30 years which included every Christmas. Some of these trips were car trips with her friends, to places such as Branson, New York, Kentucky, Michigan, Virginia, Las Vegas to name a few. One of Lucille's favorite trips was her trip to Hawaii, with a stop at Pearl Harbor where her husband Cecil had been stationed during WWII. The places she visited provided her with opportunities to be with family, friends and always meet new people.
Lucille will be missed by her family and friends.
