Wavelene G. Birt

Wavelene G. Birt, 91, formerly of Ansonia and Rossburg, passed away Saturday morning, May 1, 2010 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. She was born in Darke County, daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Hiestand)  Anderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Don Birt in 1980;  a daughter, Carolyn Burk; brothers Albert, Chester, Clarence, Forest, Raymond and Charles Anderson; and a sister, Mildred Rose. Wavelene was a homemaker, and loved to play cards.  She was a member of the Ansonia United Methodist Church, Ansonia American Legion Auxillary and Ansonia Senior Citizens. She is survived by her children, Wanda Young of Ft. Walton Beach FL., Richard (Diane) Birt of Ansonia, James Birt of Ansonia, and Terry (Neva) Birt  of Greenville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister Mary Arnett of Lima, OH. Services will be held Wednesday,  May 5,  at  2 p.m., at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with  the Rev. Joene Herr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shook Chapel Cemetery near  Rossburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.. The family request the memorials contributions to be given to Ansonia American Legion Auxiliary.
