Wilda Gibbon Bachman

June 9, 1922 — October 28, 2015

Wilda Gibbon Bachman, formerly from Marysville, passed away October 28, 2015 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio. She graduated from West High School, Columbus, in 1940 and attended Capital University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Education degree from Ohio Northern in 1963. She taught for twenty two years in Celina, Fairfield and Marysville, Ohio. She was active in the Union County Retired Teachers Association and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville and its 79ers Group.

She was born May 9, 1922 in Shawnee, Ohio to the late Harry and Edith Gibbon. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Pastor Donald Bachman, Sr., her son, David Bachman Sr. and his wife Alison, her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Mary Gibbon and great grandson, Jarred Bachman.

She is survived by her son, Pastor Don (Edie) Bachman, Jr. of Greenville, OH; daughter, Joan (Bryan) Swenson of Carrollton, TX and grandchildren; James (Tiffany) Bachman and Kristin (Kursat) Sendur; Bryan, David, Michael (Patricia) and Randall (Kate) Bachman; and Amber (Harlan) Pewterbaugh, Jared and Erik Swenson and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marcella (Jack) Bowman of Dublin and her sister-in-law Beth Bachman of FL.

At her request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Her cremains will be buried at the convenience of the family in Oakdale Cemetery beside he husband and son. Memorials contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice at 1350 North Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
